I'm Moving.....

I've moved to Xanga.

-+-+-+-

I decided to move to Xanga, cos the utilities to blog are much better than Tripod.. Even with the free service, I can link, and put up picture more easily then here.. Here, I have to do by html, which takes a bit of time.. Golly's also gonna register, so we can add each other's site in the "Sites I Read" section. Actually, she's the one who told me to check Xanga, and c if it's better than Tripod. Another thing is we can keep the post private, or protected, and only the users that I chose can c the posts.

At first, I didn't want to move because I've been writing here for 3 months now, and I wanted to be systematic, and doesn't want to go from here to there and so fort.. But I finally decided to move there. So Goodbye Tripod.

Pls. update your old links: the new address is http://www.xanga.com/dawn_1o9 . This blog's gonna be still here though, I'm not going to delete it. I'm going to be link back here as Old Archive or something.. :)

During Those Days........
I've been a bit busy lately.. Busy with work.. and busy with some "stuff".. *wink*.. :D

I was reading this book called: Ancient Myanmar, where there's old black and white photobook of Myanmar in the colonial days.. Here's a picture of King Thibaw and Queen Su Phayar Lat, who were the last king & queen of Konbaung Dynasty, and of Myanmar.

How villagers get around during those days..

Count on me through thick and thin
A friendship that will never end
When you are weak, I will be strong
Helping you to carry on
Call on me, I will be there
Don't be afraid
Please belive me when I say
Count on....

SWW
Today.. when I went to eat lunch, I saw U Aung Ko Latt, his son Jamie and a couple of other ppl.. I think they were also eating lunch there.. I feel sorry for them cos the MICT canteen's food really really sucks.. Perhaps they came to direct some kind of MTV for MICT Week which is next week.. In Myanmar, there's a song for every occasions: there's songs for AIDS, songs for leprosy, songs for SPDC (opps.. my bad..:P), songs for every dams, bridges, and roads that the government built.. which can really gets on your nerves..

-+-+-+-+-

Last year MICT Week, they repeatedly opened two MICT song over and over again with big speakers.. for the whole month! (They extended the MICT Exhibition time from a week to a month). Think how annoy u'll get if u hear the same damn song over and over again.. even though I really liked one song from there, which was sung by Alex and Myo Kyawt Myaing.

-+-+-+-+-

I really admire U Aung Ko Latt for his creative ideas in directing, and I like Jamie's rapping style.. his song "Tokyo To Seoul" from "Pay Own Naw" album is really cool.. But I wasn't that star-struck to go up to them and talk to them.

-+-+-+-+-

Yesterday, I was watching Missy Elliot's VCD.. Some of the songs in there.. they are old, but I didn't have cable TV when I was in US, so I didn't get to watch them.. Now, it's been 6 years or so.. Made me miss the old school days back in DC... :)

Some days ago, I was browsing through some websites, and came across my old high school site.. well, it's not really their website.. just affiliate pages to DC Public Schools Site.. anyways.. I saw that most of the friends I get to know there have already graduated from high school, but they left their marks behind.. Some got Scholarships, some got awards for essay contests, some was rewarded for athletic programs.. I feel so glad to c that.. :)

If I was granted a permission to go back in time, and do a thing u want the most, I would have finish attending SWW (School Without Walls).. I only got to attend 3 months of school there, but I really loved going to school there.. I even wrote a short story about my days of attending school there.. I'll share here if I have time cos I wrote it in Myanmar language, and I'll have to translate to English..

SWW - I c some of my friends in there.. at the rotating photogallery.. Nick Barbash.. he was one of my close friends.. hello there! ^-^

Feeling Indifferent
Sorry for not writing here lately.. I've been a bit busy, and also didn't feel like writing anything..

-+-+-+-+-

Feeling a bit frustrated.. at I don't know what.. Had trouble with Frontpage 2002, and it took about half-an-hour trying to find the error.. Very frustrating...

I don't know why the ppl at my office likes air-conditioning so much.. I'm freezing to death.. Whenever I turn it off, they turn it back on again.. There are FOUR air-conditioners in office, and IT WOULDN'T HURT to turn down ONE!!!!

I can't help that I'm skinny.. AND I don't starve myself to death or suffer from anorexia.. I just wouldn't gain weight.. and it's not my fault.. so stop blaming me!!

I know.. I'm being immature.. yes.. :) My inner child is just 10 years old.. Here.. have a look at the result: ;)

My inner child is ten years old today

My inner child is ten years old!

The adult world is pretty irrelevant to me. Whether
I'm off on my bicycle (or pony) exploring, lost
in a good book, or giggling with my best
friend, I live in a world apart, one full of
adventure and wonder and other stuff adults
don't understand.

Bought some CDs on Saturday: Justin Timberlake, Atomic Kitten, & Britney Spears.. I've been planning to buy them since last months, but there were always other CDs to buy so I didn't get a chance.. Another bad luck: in Atomic Kitten's album: the song that I really like in there: "Whole Again" is in bad quality.. there was some buzzes.. All other songs are fine.. very very sad..

-+-+-+-+-

My friend Htoo Htoo's b-day is this Sat... She said she'll do a small b-day party at Downtown YKKO (11th St. Middle Block) Me, my sis, Andy and Sith are planning to buy a present for her together.. I told Andy to buy the present first, and that I'll pay him back later..

MP3s, Piracy, YKKO, Die Another Day
A bit busy today.. Have some projects that are due this week, so I'm trying to finish them on time.. Lately, I find myself being able to focus more at work.. I don't let my mind wander.. I hope I succeed to do so not just for today, but for everyday..

-+-+-+-+-

As usual, I've been working while listening to my mp3 collection. Want to take a look of what I have? Here's the playlist.. I've been thinking about these mp3 issues.. I never download whole English albums from the net, only some songs that I like, and if I liked the whole album, I just buy the CD. Then another issue arise: pirated CDs.. I know that I should be supporting the artists and everything, but I just can't help buying them.. My salary is about $35-40 a month, and how can I afford to buy a $15 or more CD? There's only one shop in YGN that sell the original music CDs and casettes, and they're pretty expensive, and they don't have all albums.. Pirated CDs are a lot cheaper and easier to buy then the original ones.. A low-quality pirated CD cost 750 Ks ($0.75), and high-quality pirated CD cost about 1200 Ks ($1.20).. u can just compare the price..

Original Myanmar music CDs cost around 1500 Ks to 1800 Ks ($1.50 to $1.80), very cheap if u compare with English CDs. People don't sell pirated copies of music CDs (not that I know of..anyways).. they only sell VCD Karaoke.. :P which cost like 750 Ks. or something.. I don't know cos I never bought one b4.. I don't want to be caught in the crowd when the police come to arrest the seller or something.. :P They are doing everything they can to reduce VCD piracy, but they just couldn't be outsmarted.. For example, when May Sweet launched her Live Show Karaoke VCD, the producers said they've use anti-piracy softwares, but u can see the pirated versions already out on the street after a week or so.. The worst thing happened with Ta Bawa Lone Chit Mae Thu VCD.. when a person puts the VCD in the computer, the autorun program goes and delete your Windows system file, and the computer won't boot anymore.. It was illegal to use such programs like that, so there was a big controversy about it between the music producers and computer users.. but.. u can still buy the pirated version on the streets...(I think that case have settled down now.. I haven't read the latest news about it)

What I do is I buy a music CD, convert it to mp3, and listen them at office.. That way, everyone at office can also listen.. I don't want to scratch the CDs by just putting them in the ROM, and play them.. Considering the costs and everything, the type of CD they use are sometimes poor in quality..

-+-+-+-+-

There's a gathering of Bagan Net forum members today at YKKO (Yankin Kyay Oh) at 5:00 pm.. At first, I didn't plan to go cos it was on a working day, and wasn't sure if my parents will let me go, but I'll just manage my way around.. ;-).. I haven't c some of them in a long time cos I've been sick and couldn't go to the earlier gatherings.. I wonder if ma Pretty Princess is coming.. :)

-+-+-+-+-

Yes, I wrote this entry in the notepad first, and saved whenever I finished typing a sentence... *wink*

Blasted Earphones
Blast it! I can't hear anything out of my earphones.. URRGGHHH!! I need to buy a new earphone asap.. otherwise, my co-workers are going to kill me with their repeated songs of Feburary Mhat Tan, Soan Thin Par or R Zarni.. HELPPPP!! I have nothing against them.. really, but it REALLY REALLY gets on your nerves when u have to listen to a repeated song for over 3 or 4 times.. it makes u want to kill the artists for singing that song..

-+-+-+-+-

The state of my earphone is in a bad state anyways.. Those muzzles (or nuzzles? just what do u call those thingamits?) are already torn, and I had to wrap a rubber band around it to keep it in place.. LOL..

-+-+-+-+-

Want to listen: Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen. lyric

-+-+-+-+-

5:00 PM
Forget what I said above: the earphone works fine now.. I restarted the computer, and the music is back on.. Must have been a glitch.. n-e-wayz..

Good day all!

control+c before u post
Mannnnnnn.. I have to write everything back again... what a DRAGGGG... *urgh*..

/me slams the keyboard on the floor (actually feels like doing that, but it's office property so.. u're lucky to be spared from my anger..u keyboard!!)

-+-+-+-+-+

Over the weekend, I watched Linkin Park: Live in Texas VCD, and The Corrs: Live in London VCD. Both of them are pretty ok.. There must have been thousands of people at that LP concert.. it's so energetic!! Just by watching, I feel like jumping along with the crowd.. (but I didn't do that..LOL..) At the end of the concert, Mr.Hahn just slammed his dj-ing thingy on the floor, and I was like.. "Oh.. there goes that...thingy..".. The Corrs were also pretty good.. The one I bought is just Volume I, so I'll have to search for Volume II. One thing I noticed about Andrea is she likes wearing tops that bare her back..

-+-+-+-+-+

Yeah.. just got some new photos of my sis Golly.. whoo-hoo! She's so kirei.. :D Here's a photo of her, in case u guys are wondering.. "Who's that "Golly" she keeps talking about.."

You know what? We cut our hairs on the same day! Well, actually, when I was cutting my hair, she might have been asleep, and when she was cutting her hair, I was asleep.. but still, we cut our hair on the same date: Jan 04, 2004! Weird, huh? Now, both of our hair is pretty short ^-^ She said she cut her hair in the evening, and I also cut my hair in the evening.. actually I went to Silver Moon beauty salon at 4:00 pm, and arrived back home at 8:00 pm.. There were just too many ppl there, and it took more than 30 minutes to cut my hair.. Around 5:00pm, I was getting really really hungry, esp. since this lady was eating Si-chet in front of me, and the smell was mouth-watering, but I thought my turn will come next, so I just sat there, and watch ppl getting haircuts.. That lady's been at the salon almost the whole day.. she was getting her hair-straightened and permed, and was complaining that she already washed her hair about 5 times already that day.. Oh.. the woes that women goes through to beautify themselves (myself included).. LOL...

With brand new resolutions, and brand new hair-cuts, Golly and Dawn will rule the world! *evil laugh* **falls out from chair** rofl..

*whimper*..ok.. whatever you say..

-+-+-+-+-

just heard that there are actually people who tells other ppl not to be friends with me.. They'll say.. "Don't be friends with dawn_1o9.. she's really mean and terrible.. she practices witchcraft, and will cast spell on you!!" ok..ok.. my scenery was a little bit overboard.. rofl.. Like I really care about not having a lot of friends.. But it hurts to know that ppl are talking like that behind your back..

-+-+-+-+-

Yesterday, my friend Zin May from Forever Kumudra came to visit me at office.. Since the office time was almost over when she came, we decided to go to Inya Lake, and walk along the sideline of the lake.. (I hope I translated the Myanmar word "kan baung" right.. :) We ate Rakhine Moattee which wasn't very good cos it was too hot.. too many peppers in there.. After that, we just sat at one of those little benches, and just sat there, looking at the lake.. very peaceful.. :)

-+-+-+-+-

Yesterday, I bought Linkin Park's "Live In Texas" VCD, and The Corrs "Live in London" VCD.. haven't watch them fully yet.. so I'll comment about them later..

-+-+-+-+-

What would u do if someone says to u.. "You look more prettier than the last time i saw u!".. Dunno about other ppl, but I will say, "It ain't so!!!", and smiles shyly, and beams inwardly.. :P

-+-+-+-+-

Feeling Better.. Thank You..
Well.. I wasn't in a good mood yesterday.. I feel better now.. I thought some things thru last night.. and pulled my self back from the sorrowful pit..

-+-+-+-+-

My boss said he sees me doing too much web browsing and not working.. Well, I think the important thing is to get the job done, but.. oh well.. I'm getting salary from here, so I'll just have to follow the rules, whether I like it or not.. So I'll be writing entries in here only during lunch break or after 5:00 PM (office hour).. I'll just have to manage between chatting, e-mail replying, and blogging.. sad.. :((

-+-+-+-+-

Well, I should have set my New Year Resolutions or something, but I doubt that I can keep it up.. But here's a few stuff that I thought of doing in the year 2004:

1. To Gain Weight (about 20 more pounds.. Funny, huh? While most girls want to loose weight.. I want to gain weight.. The reason is because I'm just too damn skinny.. so..

2. To start preparing for SATs.. Have no idea where or when I'm going to attend a university abroad, but I think I should prepare for it..

3. Read more "good" books

4. Focus on my work a lot more.. I'm not sure if I can keep that up.. sometimes, I gets too distracted by other problems, and just can't concerntrate on working.. oh.. well.. it's worth a try.. :)

I'll add to this list when I remember more..

Happy New Year!
Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o' lang syne!

Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pu'd the gowans fine,
But we've wander'd mony a weary foot
Sin' auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl't in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin' auld lang syne.

And there's a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o' thine,
And we'll tak a right guid willie-waught
For auld lang syne!

And surely ye'll be your pint' stoup,
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

I don't feel like writing now.. Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year.. :)

-+-+-+-

Song of the day: Auld Lang Syne.. I think a new year just wouldn't be complete without this song.. Listened to the countdown on MRTV Radio just to hear that song ^-^

4:28 PM

Just found out that VillagePhotos has stopped giving free image hosting service.. So I had to move the pictures elsewhere.. back to good ol' Tripod..

Feeling a bit gloomy.. Should not be feeling this on the first day of a new year, but just can't help feeling it.. Perhaps, I would be in a better mood tomorrow.. :)
